Purpose of Seminar:

Blowing dust off wires, moving ladders, and walking through wet conditions are just a few of the many ways unsuspecting employees can fall victim to electrocution. While most of the attention towards electrical safety has recently focused on electricians and arc flash blasts, the reality is that common electrocution among common workers still kills or injures far more people.

NFPA 70E Article 110.2 says that "unqualified persons" shall be trained in, and be familiar with, any electrical safety-related practices necessary for their safety. This means that all people who are not electricians or "qualified" maintenance workers should be included for electrical safety training if they do just about anything other than sit in a chair.

Furthermore, OSHA 1910.332(c) says the type of training "shall be of the classroom or on-the-job type", meaning that showing an employee a video or giving him an online course to complete just won’t cut it.

Overall, this program is designed to reduce liability concerns for the employer while establishing a culture of safe work practices among all employees.

If you are looking for electrical safety training for electricians, maintenance workers or other "qualified" personnel, please see our Arc Flash Electrical Safety NFPA 70 E® classes.
