Purpose of Seminar:
In today’s world, energy use plays a significant role in the bottom line of any
facility or plant as well as having tremendous environmental impacts.
"How to Conduct Your Own Energy Audit" helps you to identify and implement
low-cost energy-saving solutions designed to save you money today as well as
provide a base for more complex energy-savings measures in the future.
This course will show you how to conduct your own energy audit – the first step
to "going green". You’ll learn dozens of tips and tricks to start saving energy
costs now and avoid the expense of having a consultant come in and do for you
what we can teach you to do on your own. Specific attention is given to the
processes and equipment in your facility that consumes the most energy.
But you will also "learn by doing" as you use modern high tech tools such as;
a thermal imager to perform infrared scans, an air flow meter to calculate energy losses,
a data logger to setup and monitor three-phase power, a light meter to determine light
levels. Getting your hands on these key tools and others in class will help you determine
the tools you need at your facility, and how to use them to cut energy costs.
By the end of this seminar, students will be able to go back to their facility
and immediately apply what they learned to help stop wasting energy today and
build a plan for the future. Training like this never costs – it pays!
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this course students will receive a personalized American Trainco

Course Outline / Agenda
Implementing an Energy Audit will do more than just add dollars to your bottom line,
it’s also about planning and maintenance processes that will make your equipment and
facility last longer and have a lower impact on the environment. This two-day course
is for maintenance personnel, operators, managers, energy managers and environmental
managers who desire to understand the best methods of identify and implementing energy
reduction solutions. From developing a broad plan to creating detailed check lists for
energy consuming equipment, this course will provide you with the tools to start
reducing your energy consumption today and put a plan in process to limit its use in
the future. This course is the perfect first step if you need to go green.

Continuing Education Units (CEUs)
All students attending our seminars receive a personalized Certificate of Completion and .8 CEUs
(Continuing Education Units) per day of training. Over 40,000 employers and government agencies who
have sent their employees to our classes accept American Trainco CEUs for continuing education
requirements. Our administration and record keeping practices meet or exceed the standards of ACE
(American Council on Education) and we are able to provide transcripts of all classes attended and
tests taken by individual students. Please contact us if our CEUs are not yet accepted by your authority.
We will initiate an application to get the approval process started.
