Purpose of Seminar:
Building and facility management personnel attending this course will discover the variety of security risks they face and how to mitigate them. Learning from the experiences of a true expert in the field, students leaving this seminar will have gained a solid understanding of the basic concepts involved with physical security and the knowledge they need to begin implementation procedures towards making their facility more secure.

Course Outline / Agenda
Learners in this course will receive insights and an understanding of Physical Security as it
relates to facility management. Through instructor lectures, real world experiences, classroom
demonstrations, and practical student exercises, students will gain a working knowledge of
lighting strategies, access control system devices, intrusion detection systems, guard force and
CCTV operations. They will be able to identify procedures for conducting a proper security survey,
which will reveal risks and threats they may not have considered before coming to this class. And
they will be given the opportunity to develop a security strategy specific to their site or facility.
By the time students leave this seminar, they will have a much clearer perspective of what proper
building and grounds security is, and how to go about implementing change to achieve security goals.
