The Best of Two Electrical Courses in One Seminar

Purpose of Seminar:

This is a special four-day seminar that combines our two most popular electrical training courses, our basic electricity course   and our electrical troubleshooting course. Combining these electrical courses provides even inexperienced students with a complete plant and facility electrical education. It gets technicians up to speed as safely and quickly as possible with everything they need to know to be more effective and safer at work.

The primary purpose is to deliver a broad range of skills and knowledge practical for every-day applications in most facilities for most maintenance personnel who deal with electrical systems and equipment. This includes, for example, using basic electrical instruments such as multimeters, understanding applicable safety codes, and finding and fixing the most common electrical problems in a facility.

PLEASE NOTE: This course consists of a SPECIAL COMBINATION OF TWO COURSES, the two-day Basic Electricity for the Non-Electrician  class and the two-day Electrical Troubleshooting & Preventive Maintenance  class. These classes are offered CONSECUTIVELY IN THE SAME WEEK to create this “Electrical Workshop: Basics to Troubleshooting” course and provide a more consecutive, intensive training opportunity.

If you would like more information about either of these components, please use these links to read about each specific course in greater detail.

Basic Electricity for the Non-Electrician

Electrical Troubleshooting & Preventive Maintenance

Who Should Take This Special, Four-Day Seminar?

This seminar combines our two introductory electrical courses, so it is ideal for technicians that need to acquire all the basic electrical maintenance, repair, usage, troubleshooting, and safety skills quickly with a high degree of confidence. Our specially designed, hands-on approach to learning facilitates this.

The course is also a great course for electricians and engineers who have continuing education requirements, because our expert instructors can tailor the material to be useful for even the most experienced technicians.

ATMT Certification

This course can also help prepare students for America Trainco Maintenance Technician (ATMT) certification in electrical maintenance.

ATMT certification demonstrates to employers that students have acquired the necessary proficiency and safety skills to maintain electrical equipment.

ATMT FAQ

Does attending the course ensure I pass the test?

No. Your ability to pass depends on many factors, including your skill level prior to taking the course. However, most of our students do pass. We recommend that anyone worried about their performance gets our ATMT Study Guide early to be prepared for class.

If I am already an expert do I have to take the American Trainco course in order to become ATMT certified?

No. The ATMT Certification test measures knowledge on a particular maintenance topic compared to others taking the same test, whether or not they attend our seminars. Of course, attendance is recommended.

How easy is it to pass the test?

It varies from topic to topic, but a score of 70% on 50 questions is required to pass the test, and approximately 75% to 80% of all students receive a passing grade.

Can I re-take the test if I fail?

Yes.

Continuing Education Units (CEUs)

All students attending our seminars receive a personalized Certificate of Completion and .8 CEUs (Continuing Education Units) per day of training. Over 40,000 employers and government agencies who have sent their employees to our classes accept American Trainco CEUs for continuing education requirements. Our administration and record keeping practices meet or exceed the standards of ACE (American Council on Education) and we are able to provide transcripts of all classes attended and tests taken by individual students. Please contact us if our CEUs are not yet accepted by your authority. We will initiate an application to get the approval process started.

In House Training

You can bring this or any American Trainco seminar directly to your plant or facility. We offer dozens of courses covering a broad range of maintenance and maintenance management topics. Our expert instructors are among the most experienced in the industry and can modify or customize training programs to meet your specific needs - whether you need a short refresher course or an in depth program that focuses on your equipment and processes. In house training reduces the training cost per employee and limits the time required away from work. There are several other advantages of in house training as well.
